This time of year, most of the bugs are leaving us alone (with the exception of bed bugs, which we’ll cover in an upcoming article). Rodents, however, view your home as a warm escape from the cold. If you’re researching organic pest control, particularly for rodents, we’re definitely experts!
The first step we recommend to anyone having a pest control problem is to look around your home. Pest exclusion and access denial are the most important aspects of any organic pest control plan. Quickly noticing any new burrows into your subarea, any activity in your attics, or noises in your home can be a very effective way to stop infestations from taking off.
If you confirm that rodents are in your structure, trapping is an option. This process is about as organic as can be – our technicians have been known to use the oldies but goodies like peanut butter (only when the customer has no allergies), jam, and other treats. You want to ensure you accompany any exclusion work with a trapping program – elsewise, rodents may become sealed into the structure and retreat into wall voids to expire.
Of course, if you have problems with any of these steps, you can always call a professional. Our prices for organic rodent solutions in the Portland, Seattle, and Southern Oregon areas begin at around $225. We’re also always here to answer any questions you may have!
