The recent wave of bed bug infestations across the United States has been a huge blow to many hotels and other businesses within the hospitality industry. Last year, New York’s Waldorf-Astoria alone faced several lawsuits claiming thousands – and in some cases millions – of dollars in bed bug damages.
From Salem to Seattle, bed bugs have been plaguing Northwest hospitality organizations, as well. Because these nuisance pests spread rapidly and are notoriously hard to eliminate, having a proactive, quick-response bed bug pest control plan in place is critical. To help protect our local hotels, property managers and other organizations against lawsuits and lost business, Eden has devised a comprehensive, multi-pronged Bed Bug Response Plan.
Customized response plan. Every organization is different, so we’ll help you develop a plan of action that’s tailored to meet the needs of your facility. This includes selecting site-specific treatment methods, such as our proprietary bed bug heat remediation treatment, and establishing all pre-treatment, post-treatment and communication protocols.
Staff training. In order to stay on top of bed bug pest control, it’s essential to have knowledgeable employees who understand how to spot an infestation, collect specimens and communicate about the problem with guests and tenants. Our bed bug pest control experts will help train your staff in bed bug response protocol and provide bed bug information posters for you to display in staff areas.
Monitoring and preventative inspections. Your bed bug pest control plan will include careful monitoring for bed bug infestations. Depending on your facility, monitoring options may vary from bed bug detection dog inspections to climb-up interceptors placed under bed legs. We will also conduct regular inspections to check and replace monitoring devices and examine any areas where bed bug activity is suspected.
Meticulous record-keeping. All aspects of your Bed Bug Response Plan – including treatments and monitoring – will be carefully documented and reported. This allows us to continue streamlining your plan and make the best recommendations possible for your facility.
Our Bed Bug Response Plan gives hospitality companies and property managers a leg up on bed bug pest control. By hammering out the details ahead of time, you can be prepared to respond quickly and efficiently at the first sign of an infestation.
